Jim Ward For Congress

    (July 23, 2010) -- Jim Ward today announced that Arizona Sportsmen for Wildlife endorsed his candidacy to represent Arizona’s 5th Congressional District.   
    Citing Ward’s strong commitment to defend the Second Amendment and other critical issues important to sportsmen, the Arizona Sportsmen for Wildlife group looks to Ward to uphold this fundamental Constitutional right in Congress and address issues that have negative impacts on wildlife, access and other concerns critical to hunting and fishing.       
    “As a hunter and pro-gun individual, Jim Ward understands the critical importance of preserving our right to bear arms and to protect our right to hunt and fish,” said Suzanne Gilstrap of Arizona Sportsmen for Wildlife. “We have complete confidence that Ward will carry this commitment to Washington D.C., and defend sportsmen’s rights and the Second Amendment against those who seek to undermine the freedom of our citizens to possess firearms for recreation and self defense,” she added.      
    “I am proud to carry the endorsement of Arizona Sportsmen for Wildlife and I will continue to fight for the rights of sportsmen when I get to Congress,” remarked Jim Ward.  “Our founding fathers created the Second Amendment to prevent attempts by the British Parliament to disarm Americans and subdue the original colonies.  This preventive safeguard is as important today as it was back then and it is equally important to safeguard the sportsman’s ability to hunt and fish as there currently is no provision to do so in the U. S. Constitution.” he added.
