Healthcare

November 6, 2009

“Despite repeated requests by the constituency of Arizona's 5th Congressional District, Representative Harry Mitchell has yet to answer how he will vote on Nancy Pelosi's Health Care Bill even though that vote is imminent.  I understand that Congressman Mitchell waits to receive his voting instructions from Nancy Pelosi, but I urge him to take a stand on his own and truly represent the wishes of his constituency and simply vote no on the proposed legislation.

Families and small business owners in District 5 deserve a real healthcare solution that lowers costs and reduces the deficit while helping taxpayers climb out from under the mountain of debt that Washington has put on their backs.  Unfortunately, Harry Mitchell seems more concerned with party loyalty than real solutions. Mitchell's vote for this massive healthcare takeover would create an explosion of government bureaucracy and pile an even bigger burden on the backs of taxpayers, but it leaves the most pressing problems unaddressed. While Harry Mitchell is backing his party’s big-government agenda in Washington, the rest of us back home are left hanging out to dry."
