Tempe City Councilmember Onnie Shekerjian Endorses Jim Ward for Congress

May 13, 2010

Her endorsement represents the strong support Jim has garnered from elected officials throughout his district.

“Jim Ward represents the new breed of conservatives whose focus is firmly on limited government, fiscal responsibility, and sustained prosperity,” remarked Shekerjian.  “His business experience and leadership credentials make him the best choice to represent us in Washington D.C. In addition, I agree with his approach to education where parents have the right to choose the best possible education for their children whether it is public, private, parochial, charter or home schooling.”

“I am honored to have Onnie Shekerjian’s endorsement,” said Jim Ward. “Her commitment to make government work for people as well as her advocacy for excellence in education is exemplified in my campaign where I support the sanctity of the parent-teacher-student relationship at the local level.”

Jim is running for Congress in Arizona’ Fifth Congressional District.  In addition to Councilmember Shekerjian’s endorsement, Ward has been endorsed by Congressman John Shadegg, former Governor Fife Symington, Scottsdale Mayor Jim Lane, Scottsdale City Councilmember Bob Littlefield, and former CD 5 candidate Eric Wnuck.
